Six months of yoga, right across the street from work, for less than $70 a month — Korea continues to absolutely win at life.

Adam has been back to his gym routine for a month now and I finally signed up for yoga.
The studio is across the street from work and super convenient.. for 6 months it is only costing $417 us dollars.

After signing the contract I noticed that the center is categorized under entertainment. Tonight is my first class so we shall see what kind of entertainment it specializes in 🙂

Q: How much does yoga cost in Korea compared to the US? A: We paid 480,000 won — roughly $417 US dollars — for six full months of yoga at a studio right across the street from work. That works out to less than $70 a month which is a fraction of what you would pay for a comparable studio membership in most US cities.

Q: Is yoga popular in South Korea? A: Yes — yoga and pilates studios have exploded in popularity across South Korea especially in cities like Busan and Seoul. Studios are modern, well equipped and remarkably affordable compared to Western prices making it one of the best fitness perks of expat life in Korea.

Q: What is Care N Yoga in Korea like? A: Care N Yoga is a yoga studio conveniently located near our school in Korea. Clean, well run and incredibly affordable — though we did notice it is categorized under entertainment on the contract which left us wondering exactly what kind of class we had signed up for.

Q: What are gym and fitness costs like for expats living in Korea? A: Extremely affordable compared to the US and Europe. Gym memberships, yoga studios and pilates classes in Korea are generally very reasonably priced and often located conveniently close to schools and workplaces making it easy to maintain a fitness routine while living abroad.

Q: What are the best things about living as an expat in South Korea? A: The cost of living is one of the biggest wins — from yoga studios to street food to public transport everything is remarkably affordable. Add in the incredible food, warm people, world class public transport and endless things to explore and it is easy to understand why so many people fall in love with Korean expat life.
