Two hours before Adam wakes up I am already on my first breakfast — and by the time he gets to the kitchen we are somehow ready for a second one and neither of us sees anything wrong with this.
November 4th…Please share your favorite clean eating breakfast recipe.
I have to be honest, Adam is the breakfast person. He does the cooking in the morning. It is his favorite part of the day I think. Now, being Pregnant, I have been making my own 1st breakfast before he makes our 2nd one when he gets up.

I usually wake up a good 2 hours before he does, so I make the coffee. Yes, being pregnant, I do have 1 cup of coffee each morning. My midwife said it was okay. And, the caffeine helps with my digestive system (TMI) and in all reality, it has been much better for me to have some then not…going 10 days with no (you know) is not so good.
Then, I have either Honey Greek Goddess yogurt with some banana and raisins OR 6 wheat crackers with 1 laughing cow cheese. (i’m not sure how “eating clean” this is).
When Adam awakes, and gets settled into the kitchen, we have boiled sweet potatoes and I have 1 egg and a piece of toast with peanut butter. Sometimes, Ad saute’s in some other veggies with the sweet potatoes. Sometimes I top everything with some salsa. Sometimes I have some yummy Florida Avocado.
Our juicer just arrived in the mail from Korea and as soon as we get settled in our own home, we will set it up and add some of that into my daily, maybe 3rd breakfast!

✏️ One Line Intro — Add at the Very Top:
Two hours before Adam wakes up I am already on my first breakfast — and by the time he gets to the kitchen we are somehow ready for a second one and neither of us sees anything wrong with this.
❓ 5 Q&As — Add at the Bottom:
Q: What are the best clean eating breakfast ideas during pregnancy? A: Our pregnancy breakfast rotation includes honey Greek yogurt with banana and raisins wheat crackers with Laughing Cow cheese boiled sweet potatoes one egg on toast with peanut butter and whatever vegetables Adam decides to sauté that morning. Florida avocado on the side when we have it. The goal is protein healthy carbohydrates and enough variety to keep a pregnant appetite genuinely interested which is a moving target.
Q: Is it safe to drink coffee during pregnancy? A: Our midwife confirmed that one cup of coffee per day during pregnancy is completely acceptable and for us it was genuinely necessary — both for sanity and for digestive reasons that anyone who has been pregnant will immediately understand. Every pregnancy and every midwife is different so always check with your own provider but one cup was our daily non negotiable throughout.
Q: What are the benefits of eating sweet potatoes during pregnancy? A: Sweet potatoes are one of the most nutrient dense foods you can eat during pregnancy — rich in beta carotene which converts to vitamin A potassium fiber and complex carbohydrates that provide sustained energy without blood sugar spikes. Boiled and served with eggs and vegetables they make an incredibly satisfying and nourishing pregnancy breakfast that keeps you full for hours.
Q: How do you maintain clean eating habits while living as an expat? A: By building your meals around whole foods that are available everywhere regardless of what country you are in. Eggs sweet potatoes yogurt peanut butter and fresh fruit are universal. The juicer we shipped back from Korea became one of our most used kitchen appliances once we settled and added fresh juice as a third breakfast component because apparently two breakfasts were not quite enough.
Q: Why is breakfast so important during pregnancy? A: Growing a human requires consistent fuel from the moment you wake up — skipping breakfast during pregnancy is genuinely not an option your body will allow. Morning hunger arrives fast and intense which is why our two breakfast system developed organically. First breakfast handles the immediate need second breakfast is the real meal that carries you through the morning.

Your description of breakfast is full of the “wow” factor. I consider myself lucky in that I just mastered scrambled eggs (much to your mother’s delight). So very proud of you and Adam…in so many ways.
