The magic of Antalya for a family is that you can do a Roman ruin in the morning and a beach in the afternoon.
Aspendos is a Roman theatre so complete it still hosts an opera festival, about forty five minutes out, and near it the sprawling ruins of Perge and the seaside temples of Side. Most of them are barely fenced off, so a kid can sit in the same stone seats a Roman family sat in.
I taught social studies and the ancient world for eight years, and this coast is the syllabus made real. Do the ruins early before the heat, bring water and hats, and be back on the sand by lunch.
