Our First Chapter at Sea

This one belongs to the Beyond the Bookshelf Travel Club, and it is our first. Skyla, Shannon and I are all sailing. CocoCay and Nassau, and two books to read before we go, SHIPPED by Angie Hockman and TOTAL DREAMBOAT by Katelyn Doyle. Three nights is short enough to say yes to. Interior from $528 per person, two to a cabin. $100 per person holds a room and deposits are due 14 January 2027. Cabins at this price are limited, and the first four to book get both books free, ereader or paperback.

18 to 25 June 2027 · Rhapsody of the Seas · 7 nights round trip from Athens
Santorini, Mykonos, Ephesus, Bodrum and Chania in Crete, plus a sea day to do nothing at all. From $900 per person.

Japan by Ship
14 to 26 July 2027 · Celebrity Millennium · 12 nights round trip from Tokyo
Two days docked for Kyoto, timed to the Gion Festival, then Kochi, Busan in South Korea, Nagasaki, Kagoshima and Mount Fuji off the deck at Shimizu. All five of us are going. Starting at $3,000 per person, not including flights. Four people in a veranda works out to about the same each as two, so a family of four gets a balcony for what a couple pays for a window.

Fall 2027 · 10 days · adults and multigenerational
The Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher, Blarney, a sheepdog demonstration, and a night in an actual castle. Autumn is the quiet season there, which is the point. From $3,699 per person, land only.
Costa Rica
Winter break 2027 · 9 days · built for families
Arenal volcano, hot springs and Manuel Antonio. Sloths, howler monkeys and zip lines while everyone back home scrapes ice off the car. My own three will be there. Starting at $3,000 per person.
