What is actually in it
Every page has a watercolor of the city, a line from a writer who knew it, and one question. That is the whole design.
A few honest sentences are enough. On the days you have nothing to say, the watercolor is still worth sitting with for a minute.
It prints at home on regular paper, or you can write straight onto it on a tablet.
Why the grown up gets one
The kids have their books. The activity book for the plane, the deck for the museum line, the history hunt for the walk nobody wanted to take.
You have the reservations, the passports and the snack bag. You are the one who made the trip happen and you are usually the one with no record of it beyond the camera roll.

How to use it without it becoming a chore
Do not try to fill a page a day. Answer the question on the days something happened.
Write it in the airport. Write it at dinner while you wait for the food. Write it on the train when the kids have finally gone quiet.
The entry you will reread in five years is the one with the real sentence in it, not the one with the complete record of what you ate.
