I know that my gabbing on about my fitness program isn’t what most everyone wants to read…so I have a blog of my own that I write in daily about this. If you’d like to check it out… www.thisthatandthattoo.blogspot.com
My first 30 days is done, I lost 10 lbs and 30.75 inches (I believe that was the total). I feel great and today started the Tracy Anderson Metamorphasis Omni 90 day program. I wrote all about it on the other site so you are welcome to read about it if you’s like.
Happy May and I hope Spring is coming soon! Today was in the 40’s!!!
Keep exploring
Prioritize sleep over late-night activities when kids are involved. Eat real food and not just convenience food. Hydrate constantly especially in hot climates. Bring a solid first aid kit and any prescription medications in sufficient supply. And have travel health insurance so a doctor visit does not become a budget crisis.
Visit a travel medicine clinic 4 to 6 weeks before departure for destination-specific vaccine recommendations. Confirm all routine vaccinations are current for the whole family. Research food and water safety at your destination. Know the location of hospitals or clinics near where you are staying.
Use grocery stores and markets rather than eating every meal in restaurants. Look for accommodation with kitchen access on longer trips. Research local markets and food halls at your destination in advance. And give yourself permission to eat things you would not eat at home without making it an event.
Have travel health insurance that covers emergency treatment and evacuation. Know the difference between a local clinic and an international hospital at your destination. Keep a list of any medications your family takes including generic names. Google Translate handles medical conversations better than you might expect in a pinch.
Walking is the most travel-friendly fitness habit and doubles as sightseeing. Hotel pools and gyms work for some families. Bodyweight routines require no equipment. And accepting that travel weeks look different from home weeks removes unnecessary guilt about missed workouts.
