Caves, Kayaks and Floating Villages: Ha Long With Kids

Once you are on a good boat in Ha Long Bay, the days fill with the kind of gentle adventure kids love.

You climb into vast caverns like Sung Sot, the Surprise Cave, lit up and dripping with stalactites. You paddle a kayak or ride a bamboo boat into hidden lagoons ringed by cliffs. You visit a floating village where fishing families still live on the water, and you swim straight off the deck. At night the crew hangs a lamp and the kids fish for squid.

It is pure adventure at a gentle pace, all from the safety of your boat, and it shows kids the scale of the natural world in a way nothing else does.
